Vertical Research Partners Hires New Chemicals Analyst

Recently, Stamford CT-based independent research firm, Vertical Research Partners (VRP), announced that Kevin McCarthy had joined the firm as a Partner to cover the Chemicals sector.  Previously, McCarthy had been an II ranked analyst at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

New VRP Analyst

Mr. McCarthy joins VRP Partner Chip Dillon who covers Paper & Packaging as a senior anchor on the Materials side of VRP’s offering.  Kevin will cover commodity and specialty chemical companies.  He will be taking some time to re-establish his coverage and is expected to launch in the coming months.

Kevin has a long and distinguished career covering the Chemical Industry.  He is a 16-year veteran of Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he was most recently a Managing Director.  Before leaving BAML last year, Kevin was ranked by Institutional Investor every year since 2006.  He was ranked #1 of 47 chemical industry analysts by Thomson Reuters/Starmine for earnings estimate accuracy in 2015 and in the top 3 every year since 2006.  McCarthy was also ranked the #1 Chemical stock picker by the Wall Street Journal  in 2012, 2006 and 2005.

Kevin McCarthy received his MBA from the Kenan-Flagler school at UNC-Chapel Hill and a BA in Chemistry and Economics from the University of Virginia.
